MCN Launches Kelly Clarkson Official Web Site and Online Club
MCN has announced it has added pop sensation and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson to its roster of managed entertainment clients, launching KellyClarkson.com on September 1.
MCN will provide strategic planning, online marketing, and online community services to www.kellyclarkson.com. In addition, MCN will maintain the kellyclarkson.com store and fulfill all online orders from the site.
"We're very excited to have Kelly as a client and look forward to providing her fans with an unforgettable online experience," said Tim Putnam, Partner/Director of Marketing at MCN. "We want the site to be a place fans consider a destination every time they get on the web. This launch is just the first step and we'll be rolling out some new technology later in the year that will truly give fans a place at KellyClarkson.com."
The addition of Clarkson to MCN's client list also makes a powerful statement that MCN is stepping into the pop/rock world.
Clarkson's fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, was released March 10, 2009. The first single off the album, "My Life Would Suck Without You", first entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #97. The following week, the single shot to #1, breaking the record of largest leap to the top spot, formerly held by Britney Spears' "Womanizer." In March 2009, Clarkson reached #1 in the UK singles chart with "My Life Would Suck Without You", and became Clarkson's first UK #1 single.
