The Beauty of Subscriptions

Imagine this...

One day you are driving home and you pass a car dealership of a little known brand. You pull in. The cars are beautiful and share all of the same features, but each has it’s own distinct styling. You take a look around and decide to speak to a salesperson.

Buyer - “Excuse me, how much does this model cost?”

Salesman - “Twenty dollars per month.”

Buyer - “No, I mean what is the TOTAL. Not the monthly payment.”

Salesman - “Twenty dollars per month.”

Buyer - “Obviously you are not understanding my question.”

Salesman - “I understand the question, but that’s not how things work here.”

Buyer - “What do you mean?”

Salesman - “We believe our customers should have the right to drive our cars for as long as they want. If you get bored with how yours looks - swap it out for a new one. They all have the same features, so you won't be missing anything.”

Buyer - “So, I could trade this in for a new model next year without consequence?”

Salesman - “We are a little different there also. You COULD trade your car every year, but we make sure your car is never outdated. If you see another car with something you’d like, let us know and we’ll try to add it. All new features are installed to existing models without charge. Our cars age like fine wine.”

Buyer - “So you are telling me that my car will never be outdated by a newer model, I can change its look as I please and they all have the same features for $20”

Salesman - “Yup.”

Obviously, this scenario would never take place in the real world -  at least not with cars -  but this is exactly the idea behind Bombplates. We wanted to make something that is constantly improving, something that allows our users to benefit from the suggestions of each other, something our users can trust.
