MCN Featured In MyEmma Blog

MCN has maintained a long partnership with our preferred email marketing company, MyEmma. Recently, I spoke with Carolyn Kopprasch at MyEmma about changes within Facebook that allow more detailed reporting for page administrators. The blog, along with my commentary, is featured on MyEmma's website.

Why Your Website Should Be Home Base

Debates keep arising about the importance of an artist or business maintaining their own website vs. utilizing only social networks, and for good reason. About a year ago, Digital Music News posted an article that outlined the top 16 reasons to own your own website. We at MCN have always stressed the importance of making your website the central hub and "end all be all&q

The top 16 reasons to own your own website

This started as a comment on a Digital Music News story last month, has since been reposted on a number of blogs, and is still getting re-tweeted.  It was authored by Constantine Roussos of .music, whose startup is pushing to create and develop the .music domain extension.  The top 16 reasons...

Social Media Revolution

About a year ago a video went viral online highlighting the rapid rise of Social Networking and how it's infiltrated nearly every age group and demographic.  The statistics are fascinating and earlier this month the group that created the first video released a second one with updated information.  Here's the new video and if you want to watch the original, it's linked below.  Enjoy!

Like It... Like it real good

If you use Facebook (and I’m pretty sure you do), you may have heard about their new “Like” Button announced last week that can be embedded outside of the Facebook system.  It lets anyone reading a news item, looking at a photo, watching a video, etc. on your site, “Like” it and announce that like to every friend that they have on Facebook.  It also shows you, which of your friends has already liked that item.

Street Team: Eric Church case study

MCN completed the "ULTIMATE V.I.P." Street Team Campaign for Eric Church, promoting the release of Eric's new Capitol release, "Carolina." The ULTIMATE V.I.P. Campaign engaged fans to help spread awareness of the new album, and deployed tools to help fans spread that awareness (viral banners, flyers, viral widgets).
