Online Strategy

Monetizing with Online Promotions

In an effort to increase engagement and awareness of our clients' milestones, we at MCN try to make it a point to coincide big events in their careers with exciting online promotions. For example, we just launched an Instagram contest for Dierks Bentley to help make fans aware of the new EP that he will be releasing. The goal is to get fans invested in the concept of his single and possibly convert that interest into a digital sale.

The Beauty of Subscriptions

Imagine this...

One day you are driving home and you pass a car dealership of a little known brand. You pull in. The cars are beautiful and share all of the same features, but each has it’s own distinct styling. You take a look around and decide to speak to a salesperson.

Buyer - “Excuse me, how much does this model cost?”

Salesman - “Twenty dollars per month.”

Buyer - “No, I mean what is the TOTAL. Not the monthly payment.”

Salesman - “Twenty dollars per month.”

Optimizing Engagement on Facebook

When it comes to engaging fans on Facebook, it can feel like there's a lot we don't know. On a personal level, Facebook is fantastic when you're just keeping up with friends and acquaintances, but it can also be a game-changer in spreading the word about your product or brand. Knowing when and with what frequency to push status updates and posts to your fan page can dictate the effectiveness of your interaction with your followers.

Your Company Name in Today's Web

Have you ever had the perfect name for your company or product but you couldn't use it because it was already taken? Gene Simmons was in a similar situation when he was originally putting his band together - tons of other groups were performing under the name "Kiss". Luckily, Gene had the foresight to trademark "Kiss" and "KISS" for use in audio recordings, which prevented any other band from releasing music under the same name.

Pinterest

In recent months, countless brands have been jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon, and who can blame them? After all, Pinterest surpassed 10 million unique U.S. visitors quicker than any other standalone website in the history of the Internet. It has over 10.4 million registered users, with 2 million of those logging in daily via Facebook and 9 million logging in monthly via Facebook.

Good Social Strategy

Many people believe that managing your social networks can be as easy as having an intern or assistant post status updates or tweets. Oftentimes when I ask clients what their social media strategy is, the most common answer I hear is that simply posting updates is more or less their game plan. Ultimately, though, a good social strategy is more than just "shouting" online and hoping someone out there will hear you.

Welcome to the NEW Gaither.com Community

If you are a fan of Southern Gospel or contemporary Christian music, then I am sure you are acquainted with Bill & Gloria Gaither. The Gaither Music Company has revolutionized the gospel industry with their original songs, merchandise and Gaither Homecoming concerts and events. The new Gaither.com launched in 2011, and I am happy to say I took over its account management duties in January of this year.

Building Momentum on Facebook

It goes without saying that Facebook is the most powerful social networking platform in the world. In fact, Facebook will soon have 1/7 of the world's population using its service, which equates to approximately one billion people.

Architect Your Website for Success

Three weeks ago, a web development friend of mine called me crying. She was upside down on a project and did not know what to do or who to turn to.
