Justin Moore’s hit single “Small Town USA” describes Justin and his fans perfectly. So when The Valory Music Co. approached MCN after a long time of building up Justin’s fan base to establish an online community, our biggest focus was to get those “small town USA” fans interacting online.
With the full website not yet complete, our goal was to create a specialized splash page to keep fans in tune with Justin’s upcoming tour dates and real-time updates. We embedded a Twitter feed and posted tour dates in via Myspace RSS. We started the groundwork for building the social community by throwing a contest to help encourage fans to not only sign up for the new community, but in addition, get entered for a chance to win a private fishing trip with Justin.
The splash page uses new images of Justin and we custom-developed a population sign to show a real time count of fans who have signed up for the community and contest. Within the first 24 hours of the splash page being live, the population count for the new community went from zero to more than 700 fans signed up. Pretty impressive.
